Native Instruments DropSquad | Maschine Expansion | Review and Sound Demo
DropSquad is a Maschine Expansion that ” brings the sound of dubstep to MASCHINE with punchy drums, wobbles, synths and the deepest basses via custom MASSIVE presets ” .
I got to admit that it`s the first Maschine Expansion that I own due to the fact that my sound library is pretty massive allready .
It`s a complete library that contains one shot drum samples , one shot wobbles , synth instruments and presets for the powerfull MASSIVE virtual instrument . It`s a full package for those who are looking for one product to help them start their DUBSTEP adventure . Even if it`s marketed as a DUBSTEP library i found that the sounds and samples can very well be used in many different genres from EDM to TRAP MUSIC .
PSPaudioware introduces Echo
PSPaudioware just released a new plugin called ECHO . As the name implies is a delay plugin .

PSP Echo is a high quality echo processor (plug-in AudioUnit, VST, RTAS AAX for Mac OSX (Universal Binary); VST, RTAS and AAX for Windows). PSP Echo’s powerful and unusual features combined with its smooth operation makes it ideal for all kinds of creative uses from simple slap back and sustain effects through ping-pong delays and spacious echoes. Use the delay sliders to add special tape echo effects for even more unique effects. The tape wow control and built in ducker further extend the creative potential of PSP Echo. Internally, the Echo is like a combination of four mono tape delays—two for the initial ping-pong pre-delay and two for the main stereo echo. PSP Echo includes a set of extremely useful factory presets that cover a wide range of this plug-in’s settings.
I installed the demo and i have to say that it sounds real good . It have lots of features and gives you great control over the sound .

Mix a Record | Part One | Prepare the session
In series i will go trough all steps that i follow for mixing a record from preparing the session to mixing tips ( compressing , eqing , automation etc ) .
I will use Presonus Studio One but the philosophy behind this tutorial series can be translate to any DAW .
In my opinion the MIXING is divided in two parts :
CamelPhat | ‘Colouring’ multi-effect plugin
CamelPhat is a multi effect plugin that it`s capable of morphing and changing a sound .
It`s been design to work great with drum loops , bass , guitars but i have use it with succes on multiple sound sources like vocals , pads , pianos etc .
I have to say that i`m pretty impressed by this plugin because it has so many option that you can play with to get crazy effects or subtle effects .
Mastering Rock with PSPaudioware plugins
I know it`s a long debate on mastering music in a home studio or mastering music in a professional studio with a professional mastering engineer but i will not get into that right now .
All i know is that i have some great results mastering my tracks in my home studio in the box ( using just plugins ) with no analog gear .
First i want to say that i`m not a mastering engineer and all things that i`m about to show you i`ve learned it practicing and experimenting .
Cinematic Impacts ( Camel Audio ) Review
I`ve always been passionate about film scoring and i think if I have to choose between film scoring and music producing I probably choose film scoring or I will try to merge the two of them together .
Why ?
Because in film scoring you have the freedom to express emotions in a very different way than in music producing where you need to follow a certain pattern . In film scoring you can go from a slow emotional , dark sound to a high energy uptempo feel in the same track . You can`t do that in a pop track where you need the energy to be consistent .
Mixing Rap Vocals | Basic Effect Chain to get a great vocal sound
Mixing vocals recorded in a home studio with a entry level microphone and no acoustic treatment can be very challenging and sometimes the vocals don`t fit well in a mix .
In this post i will show you a guide to get a better vocal sound in the mixing stage .
It`s just the basic so you have to remeber that these are not rules since mixing is a very creative procces and you can break rules and barriers to achive an unique vocal sound that fit great in the mix .
